Romawi Books

Term 2 2012 - Welcome Back

May 2012  - 2 pallets of lovely books have just arrived - it'll take me a wee while to get it all displayed on the website - I'll add it to the "Term 2 Arrivals" tab. Keep checking this section as there will be tons in here soon!

Romawi Books has now been up and running for two years and so we have decided so have a SALE! - As a big thank you for all your past and hopefully future purchases - over 500 titles are now substantially reduced - prices start at only $2!!!!! - Take a look under **SALE**

If you're a new customer - or would like to be - don't hesitate in contacting us if you have any queries at all.

Postage - we're finding it increasingly difficult to keep our prices low as NZ Post etc keep rising their prices - as a consequence we're slightly changing our postage rates:

There will be a basic $2 charge for ordering anything, plus $1 per item untill you reach a value of $100 worth of books and then postage becomes free. So in a nutshell - order 10 books at $10 each and postage is free - order 5 books at $10 each and it'll cost $7 for the postage. I hope you think that's fair.

Here you'll find a great selection of affordable children's literature at pocket money prices - often 50% of typical High St prices!

Just because here in New Zealand we live a million miles away from the rest of the world, doesn't mean we have to pay the earth for good childrens reading. We moved here from the UK in 2005 with 3 children then aged 3, 5 & 7. We soon noticed that buying books for the kids was going to be an expensive business. So 7 years on Romawi Books now imports great children's books by the pallet load, from the UK and USA.

This is a win - win situation. We get to choose great books for our kids to read, make a living and are still able to sell the books to you for fantastic discounts! Typically we can sell our books from $7 to $12 - now that's a bargain!

The books are all brand new - some we've bought in quantity and some just in 1's and 2's. However it's worth pointing out that we buy quite a lot of our stock from 'remainder' wholesalers - i.e. the stock is new but may have been already shipped to a shop or distribution point and then returned as not sold - either because of overordering or a recall due to reprint. This means that some of the books from the US have a black mark on the side (indicating remainder stock). We feel this is a small price to pay for otherwise fine and perfectly readable affordable books! We hope you agree.

The new website should allow you to :

  • Search by reading age: - Picture Books, Primary School, Intermediate & Teen/Young Adult
  • Search by Fiction or Non-Fiction
  • Use the 'search' toolbar to look for a particular author, word, title or phrase.
  • Buy stock online - we're charging a flat rate of $2 plus $1 a book for postage but if you order $100 or more then it's free!
  •  If you live in the Manawatu, Horowhenua, Kapiti, Porirua, Hutts or Wellington areas we should be able to deliver for free if you don't mind waiting a few days! Just make a note in the comments box when you order about delivery and we will do our best.

We have over 5000 titles in stock but we're only putting the books we have multiple copies of on the website. There are plenty that we have bought in 1's and 2's which due to time constraints we're not listing. If you can't find the title you're looking for then please contact us to see if we can get it.

Let's have a bit more of this: And a bit less of this!
